About Us
The Vigilante, as you all know, is an essential grassroots-based community association that plays a crucial role in fostering safety within our neighborhoods. Its primary aim is not only to secure lives and property but also to provide various services that the community might urgently request for its development and the prevention of potential calamities. The Vigilante Group of Nigeria began at the village level, gradually expanding through wards, Local Governments, and State Groups. This grassroots movement eventually merged at the Federal level, allowing for more effective planning, coordination, and execution of our activities dedicated to the protection of lives and property. Through collaborative efforts, the Vigilante aims to create a safer environment, ensuring that the community thrives while also being prepared to tackle any emergencies that may arise.
Our Vision
- To assist the police and other law enforcement agencies in combating crime
- Â To protect and preserve public property
- Â To aid the police in crowd control and maintenance of peace at public functions when necessary.
- Â With police approval, to support public agencies in safeguarding their facilities, plants, and equipment
- Â To provide information to the police and other security agencies about criminals or wanted persons residing in the ward or Local Government area
- Â To identify the permanent or temporary residences or handlers of stolen properties and fraudsters for the purpose of enabling the police to apprehend or monitor their activities.
- To make positive and constructive contributions to the advancement, progress, and well-being of the community by mobilizing and assisting in communal development initiatives.
- Â To comply with the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and all relevant laws and regulations.
