In a strategic move to bolster security measures and combat the rising wave of kidnapping in the country, the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) has officially partnered with the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN). This collaboration was announced during a recent meeting led by CSP Mustapha, Officer in Charge of Anti-Kidnapping, and Commander Yabo Micah Maji, the FCT Commander.

The partnership aims to enhance intelligence sharing and operational coordination between the NPF and VGN, leveraging the local knowledge and grassroots presence of the vigilante group to effectively address the challenges posed by kidnappers. CSP Mustapha emphasized the importance of community involvement in tackling crime, stating, "The fight against kidnapping requires a united front. By working together with the VGN, we can create a more secure environment for our citizens."

Commander Yabo Micah Maji echoed these sentiments, highlighting the critical role that local vigilante groups play in supporting law enforcement efforts. "The VGN has invaluable insights into the communities they serve, and their involvement will significantly enhance our response capabilities," Maji remarked.

The collaboration is expected to include joint patrols, community awareness campaigns, and training sessions aimed at equipping VGN members with the necessary skills to assist the police in their operations. Both parties are committed to fostering a strong partnership that prioritizes the safety and security of citizens in the FCT and beyond.
