In a decisive step toward bolstering inter-agency collaboration in the fight against kidnapping, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Mustapha O.C., Head of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit, today led a team of senior police officers on a courtesy visit to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command Office of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN).

The visit, held at the VGN's FCT Command Headquarters, highlighted the growing synergy between the Nigeria Police Force and local security outfits in combating the surge in kidnapping and other violent crimes across the territory.

During the engagement, CSP Mustapha and the leadership of the VGN discussed strategic areas of collaboration, including intelligence sharing, coordinated patrols, and the implementation of community-based security strategies aimed at safeguarding lives and property.

"This partnership is pivotal in our fight against kidnapping," CSP Mustapha stated. "Our goal is to integrate efforts with all security stakeholders, especially grassroots organizations like the VGN, to ensure criminals have no hiding place in the FCT."

Commandant of the VGN FCT Command, alongside other senior officials, welcomed the visit, expressing readiness to support the Nigeria Police in joint operations and community outreach programs aimed at strengthening public trust and cooperation.

Security analysts view the development as a positive step in the right direction, as both formal and informal security agencies increasingly collaborate to address growing security concerns in Nigeria’s capital.

The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment from both sides to sustain the momentum through actionable plans and regular joint evaluations.
